Personal Initiative & Personal Finance—Learn Why It Is Important That You Have The Initiative to Take Consistent Action

On many occasions over the past 20 years while I operated as a financial planner and real estate professional—I have asked those seeking to improve their credit, finance and home buying and home selling position to pull their credit report and improve upon it prior to continuing on their financial improvement journey.

In many cases the consumer did not have the “personal initiative” or self-discipline to pull their “own credit report” and improve their credit and finance position.

Many had excuses or reasons—or saw the duty of doing so (pulling their credit report) as someone else’s responsibility—and thought that the fact that I had asked them to pull their “own” credit report—was somehow interfering with their time and lifestyle.

On many occasions they went elsewhere where the responsibility for their future success was not of concern to the company they chose to represent them.

In many cases the real estate agent and loan officer’s put them in a situation where the loan and terms they got were not in their best interest.

Yes, it is true that they did not have to do any work (pull credit report) to get their loan and house—of their dream. However, in most cases it came at a cost.

By not having a keen interest and the "personal initiative" and self-discipline with their own finances—at the level that they needed to be at—they set themselves and their family up for future financial difficulties in many cases.

Once the real estate and financial market meltdown occurred in 2008-2009—many were devastated financially.

Don’t be like those who feel they know it all and are unwilling—for whatever reason—to analyze and improve their credit and finance position.

It is imperative that you have “personal initiative” and self-discipline at all times—if your goal is to be truly successful in your credit and financial life!
